H.E. Antoinette Sassou-Nguesso is a schoolteacher by profession. She is the President of the African First Ladies Peace Mission against conflicts; Chair of the Coordinating Committee to fight AIDS and malaria. In the Republic of Congo, she is President of the OYO National network workshop on the education system recovery and President of the Foundation Congo Assistance.

H.E. Antoinette is the Patroness of Women United Foundation which provides Africa’s First Ladies a unique media platform to go beyond the boundaries of their nations and gain international exposure in a fuller, more multi- dimensional light.

H.E Ana Afonso Dias Lourenço holds a degree in Economics. She has experience in economic planning, investment programming and perspective analysis in international organizations and institutions. In addition to other functions, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the World Bank Group, as Executive Director representing Angola, South Africa, and Nigeria from 2012 to 2016.

As First Lady, she prioritizes initiatives aimed at improving living conditions, well-being, and capacity building for the sustainable development of communities, in the field of education, health, environment and culture, with special attention to the young girls.

H.E. Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi was appointed UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador for the fight against gender-based violence and the empowerment of women.

H.E. Madam Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has a master’s degree in International Affairs and Strategic Studies. She is a women’s rights activist and child rights advocate. She founded Future Assured an initiative to continue her advocacy work for the health and well-being of women and children through community mobilization and health promotion.

H.E. Dominique Quattara First Lady of the Republic of Ivory Coast had a distinguished career as head of a Company following a university degree in Goods Administration and a degree in Real Estate.

She has been involved for decades in humanitarian activities. She established in 1998 the Children of Africa Foundation, which works in 11 countries in Africa and particularly in Ivory Coast.

H.E. Monica Geingos, is a qualified lawyer. Before becoming the First Lady in 2015, H.E. Geingos spent 15 years of her professional career in the financial sector, as a private equity and governance expert. The First Lady is also the UNAIDS Special Advocate on Young Women and Adolescent Girls.

The focus areas of her office are Enterprise

Development and Entrepreneurship, Integrated Early Childhood Development, Gender-based violence, and Health. In 2020 she was named one of 100 most influential African women.

H.E. Angeline Ndayishimiye has been the First Lady of Burundi since June 18, 2020. She holds a degree in Economics and Management and was a government official from 2005 to 2018.

She is the President of the Good Action Foundation “Umugiraneza” which she created in July 2019. Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye also founded the association “Femmes Intwari”, in 2017, bringing together women ex- combatants and the wives of ex-combatants for peace and democracy.

H.E. Fatima Maada has unwavering allegiance to her country and people. She personifies something other than glamour and drama: she is an embodiment of African womanhood.

A politician, an actress, a writer, a human’s right advocates. She has embarked on many programs, but all geared toward investment in human capital with emphasis on women’s empowerment and protecting our children.

H.E. Auxillia Mnangagwa is an expert in the hospitality business, studied in Switzerland and has a master’s degree in business administration. She is the former Chairperson of Pan African Parliament for the Southern African Union. She is the founder of Angel of Hope Foundation which advocates for the preservation of the Zimbabwean culture.

H.E. Janet Musevini has a Bachelor of Education and a diploma in childhood Development. She is the Founder and Patron of Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans, Uganda Youth Forum, and the Co-Chair of Cure Hospital. She is Minister of Education and Sports in Uganda.
